The Big 4-0!!!

Yep, it was a big birthday for me this week!

I think I am getting a spinning bike for my birthday!!! I have been wanting one, just another way to get in my cardio and I know when I was doing a lot of it, it really impacted my rear end - in a good way!!! I am also going to have my nails done this whole year as part of my present. I just need to find the time to get them done!!!

Food and exercise did not go really well this past week - again, I let my busy life get in the way. No more! I keep visualizing myself healthy and fit and I know I will get there!!! Onward!!

Amelia, my 10 year old, took this picture so she is missing, but I love the picture :-)
Tonight and tomorrow - 4 more recitals, next week is the last week of school and things slow down a little YES! We leave for Myrtle Beach on the 29th for the girls' National Dance Competition and I need to get at least a little bit of this weight off before then. If I don't, I am going to have to buy a bunch of clothes because none of my shorts fit! What a terrible feeling...I let things go.
Time to get the kiddies to school!

See how great I am at keeping up a blog :-)

Ok, so things are going ok. Doing much better than I have in recent times, just not yet exactly where I NEED to be. I have to get more strict about my food, sometimes letting too much time go between meals and it is screwing me up big time (read - starving and eating too much at later meals). The food itself has been pretty squeeky, just the right amounts at the right times is a little off.

I joined TEAM Asylum on Tracker, just what I needed!!! I got back into my BFL lifting method which I haven't done in a looooong time. I am running 5 miles outside a few times a week and doing 2 mile stints for time on the treadmill for the group stats. AWESOME!!! Physical challenges like this always get me going and make me feel YOUNG again!!!

On the work front, I am feeling like I can step away a bit from the coordinating position as the gal who is replacing me is really stepping up (which is awesome). Things are slow right now, I feel kind of bad for her as she is coming in during a slower time of the year, but it will all work out. She will do a good job, I hope I have helped her without holding her hand too much and I have done my best to make her feel that it is her program now and whatever she wants to change is up to her. What worked for me may not work for her and that doesn't bother me at all as long as the end result is favorable. I am so looking forward to just concentrating on providing a great program and experience to the people in my classes, spending more time on MY personal fitness and LESS STRESS!!!!! YES!!!

With regard to the girls and their dancing, we are getting to the point in time when we have to let the studio know what we are doing next year. We are leaving, the reasoning is too much to go into tonight, but we need to make final decisions about what we are doing next year. Mia is talking about concentrating more on gymnastics. She has her back handspring and her arial cartwheel (most of the time) and is working on a back tuck right now. I would like to keep her in dance, at least just to keep up and improve her technique. Alexa wants to keep dancing, but we are not planning to compete next year. She also would like to try out for cheerleading, boy would that be GREAT if she made the team. However, many girls try out and many don't make it, obviously. I will get her into some private lessons over the summer to work on jumps and some tumbling to help improve her odds. It would be so great for her self-esteem to make cheerleading, not to mention wonderful for her to get to know more kids at school. I have to start looking into all of this this week for them so we have a set plan after Nationals in the beginning of July.

Tomorrows plan -

First thing - 2 mile, balls out run!!! I need to try and top my time of 18:51
Lower body workout
Core workout
PLAN food for the rest of the week and go grocery shopping
Do some cooking for the week

Need to drink some water and get to bed!!!

Well, I am back again...first post of my newly re-established blog! I wasn't all that great at blogging last time, seemed like it took too much effort. However, I need ACCOUNTABILITY and writing down intentions, staying in tune with my goals and knowing others might be reading will help me be successful.

This will not only be about my health and fitness journey, but also just a place to vent and as a place to "release" for lack of a better word and isn't that really what a blog is about? It might not always be entertaining or interesting to everyone else, and that is ok - don't want to feel like I have to entertain people...so, being a bit selfish, this is about ME.

Tomorrow begins a very intense effort to undo the damage I have done over the past year or so. Following are my intentions:

I will lose at least 10 lbs by June 28th. (we leave for Myrtle Beach on June 29)
I will successfully begin and maintain a progressive weight training program.
I will continually push myself to improve my cardio workouts and progress.
I will eat appropriately portioned and balanced meals, 5-6 times per day.
I will drink 80 oz of water a day.
I will take my vitamins and EFA's in the morning and every evening.
I will plan free day.
I will spend more time with my 6 year old.
I will finalize the plan for my daughters' extra-curricular activities for next year by the end of the school year.
I will focus on improving my marriage and finally resolving unresolved conflicts/issues.
I will take pride in my work and give my best effort to my clients.
I will take time each day to appreciate things in my life.

I like my list of intentions, need to print them out and put them on the bathroom mirror.
